„It was a great stay with very good Food and very kind staff. We will definitely come back!“

„Schönes Hotel, guter Service, angenehme Atmosphäre, ideal als Ausgangspunkt um den Lake District zu erkunden “

„This was the best B&B by far I have ever stayed in. The room was spotless and a very comfy bed. The full Cumbrian breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, There was also a good alternative menu aswell. But if you decide to have an evening meal you are in for a real treat. Darryl is a trained Chef and the meals he serves are amazing.“

„Pretty average“

„Ich würde gerne fünf Sterne geben, aber ich muss einen Stern abziehen für die Qualität des Bettes. Kissen und Decke waren gut, allerdings ist die Matratze ein 215 eine absolut durchgelegene alte Federn-Matratze, bei der auch die zwei zusätzlichen Topper das Ergebnis nur unwesentlich verbessern. Die Lage ist hervorragend, alles mit kurzen Wegen erreichbar und das hauseigene Restaurant liefert Essen auf sehr guten Niveau!“

„Stayed five times, excellent hotel fro a short break away .“

„Great B&B with a lovely host, beautiful location, very nice room, delicious breakfast- everything was perfect, will definitely come again. “

„I've stayed at the Trout a number of times, it is a pretty, well maintained hotel with lots of character and ideally placed to explore Cockermouth, the Western Lakes and the national park. The food is good and the staff are professional and very friendly.“

„We had a great stay. Our hosts were fantastic!“

„Freundliches Personal und gutes frühstück. Saubere Zimmer mit komfortabler Ausstattung “

„A1. Very good.“

„Alles bestens, Danke“

„Our stay was absolutely amazing! The spacious, clean, and refurbished room with a super comfortable bed was just what we needed. The full English breakfast had generous portions, and every meal was delicious. The staff were excellent, chatty, welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic! We loved every minute and can't wait to stay again. Highly recommended! 🤩✨“

„The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. Once we discovered the error we have another 1 hour 15 minute ride to “hotel”. Upon arriving, key was in lockbox, room was large but beds were from the 19th century, incredibly ...

„We could not fault this small hotel - top marks!“
