Rental from hell
On check in 330pm owner was residing in dwelling. He thought no one was coming due to Covid or had not heard from VRBO about place being rented. The helper Santiago did a quick clean job and owner compensated with an free extra day that I took advantage of when I extended my stay six days after my friend left. It had serious WiFi issues got by communicating with portable WiFi. He said area prone to blackouts. I had to pay 2mil pesos to fill water tank within first week. NO RUNNING HOT WATER we heated hot water to bath. Owner said he goes to beach to bath REALLY I initially found the owner obnoxious and his vernacular insulting but before I extended we began to have more civil normal adult conversation regarding his property. A couple of times I was told that if we did not like WiFi or other issue go to a restaurant or hotel where they have free WiFi to use. I really felt helpless and insulted when we were told we can find some other hotel to stay at. Refrigerator broke first few days luckily he had a smaller new refrigerator in pool house. Me and Santiago replaced broken fridge with new. Access Door to roof in 2nd Fl bdrm leaked profusely one night FLOOR DANGEROUSLY WET during extended stay. Santiago sealed it the next day. Water filter pump went out was repaired thru Santiago. All in all beautiful property 3 bdrm one kids rm with bunk beds. room upstairs has its on bathroom. I would give the property 7 I would give the caretaker Santiago 20 out of 10 he made the difference on repairs coffee in the morning cleaning and he even did the laundry one time. For it was the big pool and privacy that sold me on the rental property. I would not tell anybody not to rent this property but this was my stay and I owe it to be truthful to future renters. I still enjoyed my stay and even got a God Bless you from Sean at some point that was a 360. He’s not a bad guy just not use to being a host. Was in property 16 days
