Upon check-in, we found hair in the tub and it did not appear to have been cleaned. We reported this and a housekeeper came to the room and cleaned the tub, stating that this was not a room that she cleaned but was helpful with taking care of it.
When getting ready for bed, as we pulled the sheets, a cricket was crawling on the mattress, jumping around. I was able to catch it and take it to the front desk. I shared with them that this was the second thing that happened to us resulting in me wondering about the cleanliness of the room. She assured me that she would reach out to the district manager and "make it right".
For both situations, they said that had I not used Expedia, but reserved through Hilton, I could have received points (I'm not a member), however, since I used a "third party", they couldn't provide me any reimbursement or concessions towards my stay.
The next morning, at check-out, I asked one more time about how to "make right" from the tub and cricket... The front desk said, "That's what happens on the first floor... Orkin can't get all of the insects."
Whelp, that sealed the deal for me.
