„Sehr angenehmes Hotel mit sehr hohem Standard. Leider etwas nah an eine Schnellstraße, die deutlich zu hören ist. Penibel sauber, mit schönem Restaurant und Bar. Der Spa Bereich ist für englische Verhältnisse sehr schön, ebenfalls absolut sauber, mit Dame am Empfang. Eine echte Empfehlung.“

„Nettes kleines Gästehaus, liebevoll ausgestattet, sehr nette Betreuung. Absolut empfehlenswert.“

„Property lovely, high standard interior. Staff on reception felt a little awkward as if on guard sat at a desk near the stairs but were always friendly. Access was a little difficult due to cars parked around the entrance to the car park. I guess to avoid the additional charge per night extra charge which we paid. Upon leaving our car was covered in tree sap but it will wash off. We stayed for 4 days and no one came into our room to empty our bins, replenish toiletries or restock the hot drink ...

„Overall an OK stay but not worth the price tag. Visited at half term, hotel appeared under prepared. All staff were helpful and polite but clearly under staffed so not necessarily their fault. Room not ready 2 hours after check-in, walkways not maintained, dirty glasses and plates with food on outside a lot of rooms. 1 bath robe in the room for 3 guests, toilet in the room didn't flush and whole bathroom in need of basic repairs. Bar/restaurant stopped taking food orders at 7:20pm in school ...

„The staff and the flair was excellent. Sadly the coffee is not good. The selection for breakfast is great. “

„Leider ist das Hotel ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen und müsste dringend renoviert werden. Bettwäsche sowie Handtücher hatten teilweise Löcher und auch die Zimmerausstattung ist renovierungsbedürftig. Das Personal war jedoch durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit. “

„Excellent base to visit York. A pleasant 30 minute walk along the river into York. Property was very clean and warm. Owner very attentive. Kindly left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which we were grateful for. “

„The staff and grounds were amazing. Loved the garden and the character of Gray’s Court. The bed and mattress in our room are in need of an upgrade as the mattress sagged a bit and the bed frame croaked with every motion.“

„This is a little late, we stayed in January 2026: I recently had the pleasure of staying at Serenity in the City to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and I can wholeheartedly say it was a remarkable experience! The apartment we stayed in was stunning; it felt truly luxurious, with elegant decor and all the amenities we could have hoped for. Joe and her husband were incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we made contact. Their warm hospitality significantly ...

„Conveniently located within a 10 min walk from the York train station. This BnB was cozy and quaint. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great value!“
