I wouldn’t really say I’m a fussy person, I can put up with a lot and I’m quite resilient but my ‘stay’ at The Jersey Arms hotel was a very good way to force some impromptu character development and really make me contemplate a lot of my life choices. Being honest the receptionist was a sweetheart and did the best that they could, but the hotel was a different story entirely. From the moment I walked into my room the very strong potent smell of damp and mould hit me like a wall, before realising that there was thick, fuzzy mould growing in the bottom of the wardrobe, this was also accompanied by paint falling off the walls and dirty sheets. I can confidently say a hotel has never made me cry before but this one most certainly did. The receptionist was kind enough to move my room, which was of equal poor form as the first one. The same horrible damp/mould smell, dirty sheets and plaster and all sorts hanging off the wall. Whilst I was issued a full refund by the hotel an Expedia very promptly as I type this review I just want to preface, this review is in by no way a petty complaint. I would just like to warn others to think twice about booking this hotel, as the cheap price point does in no way justify the condition nor experience of this hotel.
