At the end of Black River Road, the Black River spills into Lake Superior at a harbor ringed by old-growth hemlocks — accessible only on foot, via a boardwalk through the trees. It's one of the UP's best-kept secrets, and Alpen Villa 4 is your home base for it.

This 1,000-square-foot condo sleeps eight: a queen bedroom, a second bedroom with a queen plus twin bunks, and a full sofa bed, with a full bathroom plus a half bath, a fully equipped kitchen, and a wood-burning fireplace with firewood ready to go. Grill dinner on your private balcony. Step down to the lower deck — shared with Alpen Villa 3 — for the hot tub. The community firepits at each end of the building are open to all Alpen Villas guests, firewood included.

The ATV trail network is close. The mountain is just outside. And on slow days, there's Pac-Man. Alpen Villa 4 connects to Alpen Villa 3 for groups of up to 16.

BOOKING TWO CONNECTING VILLAS?
This is Alpen Villa 4. It connects through an interior door to Alpen Villa 3 only — book Villas 3 and 4 together for one 4-bedroom space that sleeps 16, with the shared lower deck and hot tub right outside. The connecting pairs are 1+2, 3+4, 5+6 and 7+8; no other combination connects. The listings look alike, so if you're not sure you've picked the right two, message us before booking and we'll confirm availability and point you to the correct pair.

A $500 refundable security hold will be placed on your payment method at check-in. Alternatively, a $49 damage protection insurance policy is available. Details will be provided during online check-in.
