This home was custom built by the owner and it is evident at every turn. Though the house has a small footprint, it lives large and was featured by the Environmental Center of Bend for its innovation, efficiency and quality construction. Hydronic heated floors throughout result in quiet, even comfort and a noticeably calm environment. Blackout shades let you set your own schedule in the sunny high desert. Exposed beams, solid doors, high ceiling, expert tilework -- this isn't rental-grade. But as they say, location, location, location! Being so near the river, yet also nearby access to the highway and downtown means you'll spend less time in the car and more time soaking up the Central Oregon outdoors.

You'll have access to the entire home. There is one 'off-street' gravel parking spot, and on-street parking in front of the house is free 24/7.

We'll be within cell phone range generally, and are quick to respond to any call or text.

The house is located in a friendly and welcoming Westside historic neighborhood, with convenient access to Highway 97. Stroll into town for dinner along the Deschutes River or cross the footbridge to explore miles of gorgeous riverside trails. Just 3 houses away from First Street Rapids park and 10 minutes walk to downtown.

Please note that the laundry room (downstairs, very separate from the living space) may be used by our housekeeper during your stay. She is a professional and accustomed to the setup and will not disturb you, ad the laundry room is fully securable from the rest of the living space. The laundry will only be used for a single load, between 11AM-3PM. There is no shared wall or any shared spaces,.

We expect guests to be respectful of the neighboring studio, which is a short-term rental. The main concern is noise out on the second floor patio, which is near the bedroom window of the neighboring studio.

Please note there is construction next door by the property owner, a contractor, who is building his own home. Noise limited to working hrs (8-4, generally not on weekends).
