" The first impression upon entering reception (it's in the pub) is that you feel like you've walked into the crime series Midsummer Murder and are looking to find Barneby. Our room was great, large bed, nice bathroom. You are greeted very warmly and uprightly, and you feel like you've been treated to a very good life. The Walnut Tree is located in a small village (approx. 400 inhabitants) and is very peaceful and full of character, making it the perfect place if you want peace and relaxation. We were the guests who stayed the longest, with 18 nights. We ate dinner every day and sometimes lunch too. The food is excellent; we give the kitchen 11 out of 10 stars. I can only recommend the food. During our time as guests, we became very close to the landlord and his wife and the staff, and a friendship developed. Furthermore, when you are open to other people like we are, we were also able to make contact with the local residents, and all of this gave us the feeling that we were part of the community. We would therefore like to express our thanks to the landlord, Peter and his wife Janine, and of course to the staff (Kira, Barbara, Megan, Rachel, and the young bartender). I would also like to express our thanks to the local people (Jeff, Joe, Paul, and Sharon); it's nice to have friends, thank you. We can definitely recommend The Walnut Tree and we will be back. PS: It's a village hotel with a pub, and not a Big City Hotel, where you have 24 Hour service. "

"Ordentliches Hotel, etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Im Flur standen große Ventilatoren auf dem Teppichboden, warum auch immer. Die Betten waren okay, das Bad sauber. Nettes Personal, gutes Frühstück. Der Preis war sehr hoch. "

"Schönes Hotel, Zimmer schon etwas älter aber in sehr gutem Zustand. Badezimmer relativ neu. Klimaanlage und kleiner Kühlschrank im Zimmer wären großartig - bei unserem Aufenthalt war es sehr heiß und entsprechend auch im Zimmer extrem warm. Ansonsten aber alles top - kurze Fahrzeit nach Glastonbury, ideal für Besuche."

"Für 3 Erwachsene ein Zimmer gebucht gemäß Buchungsbestätigung. Beim Check in dann böse Überraschung. Obwohl ich vorher noch unsere Ankunft tel. bestätigen musste, hätten wir nur ein Zimmer mit einem Doppelbett bekommen. Wir mussten ein Upgrade auf Deluxe room mit Aufpreis bezahlen. Dafür hat die 3. Person ein Schlafsofa bekommen dass mehr ein Folterwerkzeug statt ein Bett war. Auf unsere bitte Frühstück to go für eine frühe Abreise zur Verfügung zu stellen, wurde zuerst gesagt, das sei kein Problem. Am Morgen war es dann nicht möglich und alles war wieder total kompliziert. Für mich leider nicht empfehlenswert, obwohls eigentlich schön dort gewesen wäre"

"Frühstück war gut und Personal freundlich. Allerdings ist das Hotel sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Fenster waren nicht zu öffnen, da Fenstergriffe abgebrochen waren, Treppenhaus roch muffig, selbst die einfachen Schlüsselanhänger waren mehrfach mit Tesafilm geklebt. Warmes Essen absolut geschmacklos. Schade."
