I stayed in the Jackson room and there were several issues guests should be aware of. First, there is no thermostat in either of the two rooms, and both were noticeably cold during my stay. Housekeeping could also be improved—there was a dirty Q-tip next to the dresser in the smaller room and visible trash behind the faucet in the larger room.
It should also be clearly stated in the listing that the community fridge is a very small mini fridge, so guests can plan accordingly. The keypad to check into the room is slow to light up, and there are no instructions provided on how to lock the door when leaving. The doors do not lock automatically, which is important information for guests. The same goes for the lock to enter the main building—guests should be told to lock it behind them.
There are also a couple of safety and comfort details that should be mentioned ahead of time. There is a fire emergency escape ladder stored under the bed, but this is not listed anywhere, and guests should be made aware of it. Additionally, if you prefer to sleep with a flat pillow, you may want to bring your own, as the pillows provided are quite elevated.
On the positive side, the lobby and coffee area were clean, the inn itself is charming, and the grounds are pretty, which adds a lot to the overall atmosphere.
It feels like guests are left to figure out too many things on their own. Clearer instructions, better communication, proper heating, and cleaner rooms would make the stay much better.
