Don‘t stay herr
I stayed at Harrah’s Atlantic City for two nights with a friend, and the experience was very disappointing.
Rooms: We booked a non-smoking room, but the first three rooms all smelled strongly of smoke. In the end, we had to pay for an upgrade just to get a truly non-smoking room, which is unacceptable. Even in the “renovated” Waterfront Tower (28th floor), the room was run-down and outdated.
Key/Check-in issues: On our first night, our room key didn’t work. We had to go all the way back to the front desk, where only one person was working. We waited almost 45 minutes just to get it fixed.
Late checkout: We paid $20 per hour for a late checkout until 2 p.m., but we were still disturbed three times (two phone calls and one knock on the door). We were promised the fee would be waived because of this, but of course it wasn’t. When I contacted support, they told me that without the name of the employee who promised it, nothing could be done. So they broke the word of their own employee
Overall: The hotel is old, badly maintained, and the service is poor. For the prices charged, this level of quality is simply unacceptable.
Conclusion: I will not stay at Harrah’s Atlantic City again, and I cannot recommend it to anyone.
