The view is always beautiful out your window. This marks our 5th visit to Astoria over the years and we always stay at the Holiday Inn. The view is amazing, the breakfast is tasty and inviting, you can sit and watch the river as you eat. We normally get a suite on the 3rd floor middle, except this visit, we stay in a corner suite that had a king bedroom and a queen bed in the living room. it was located on the west side, top floor, right under the bridge. That was the mistake, we soon realized, by the noise, throughout the night, loud banging of the metal of the bridge as the trucks crossed. We could not move to another room for the hotel was booked. So we toughed it out for the few days we were there and could not wait for it to end. The rooms are always clean as well as the entire hotel. The staff is very friendly, however the front desk needs more staff when checking you in, we had 5 people ahead of us and only 1 person checking you in, so it took some time.
