Oasis in the Mountains
Upon check in, the woman listing the property told us our property would be ready earlier than check in, if we wanted to check in early. We drove all the way from Indianapolis so that was welcomed. When we went to the property, I could not get a hold of her. So we went to the store to do some shopping. We arrived back at our check in time at 4pm with the given code not working. After calling for almost an hour with no response, and a full car of groceries, we found a door that happened to be open. The woman called me back and asked if the code was working, which it was not, and they had to reprogram it. I’m not sure if they forgot to program it, but it was very inconvenient.. after that, the code worked fine.
The house is lovely, specious and serene. We got use of the hot tub but did not spend much time in the basement because it was cold unless fireplace was on. There were little things “wrong” with the house, blinds falling down, the fireplace wouldn’t turn on and other little “attention to detail” things like no soap.
The mattresses in 2 of the rooms had nice beds but the room with the bed posts had the hardest mattress any of us had ever been on. Gladly we did lots of activities and I could fall asleep on anything. Some of the art work was a little disturbing but we understand Ed it all added to the overall vibe.
The home is very conveniently located. 12 minutes to downtown. Weaverville is also super cool! We enjoyed the Well Bred coffee there.
We would stay there again, just some minor things that did not contribute to having a bad experience. The host was super apologetic about the door not opening. I appreciate her helping me through getting the code changed. We were very pleased with the property minus the bed. We didn’t get to use the fireplace although we wished we did.
Thank you for having us!!!
