I recently stayed at the Arecibo Inn and had a mixed experience, but overall, I’m giving it 5 stars because the value for the price is excellent. The service was truly a standout—staff members were courteous, helpful, and attentive throughout my stay. Check-in was quick, and any concerns were addressed professionally and efficiently.
That said, there are a few areas that could use improvement. The hallways had a lingering unpleasant smell, likely due to people smoking despite posted policies. Better vigilance and enforcement of the no-smoking rule would improve the environment significantly. The hallways were also quite noisy at times, especially during the night. Installing better soundproof doors could help minimize the disturbance for guests.
Finally, the mattresses could use an upgrade, as mine felt worn and not very comfortable. Improving mattress quality would really elevate the overall guest experience.
In spite of these issues, the overall value for what I paid was excellent. With a few improvements, this hotel could easily become a top choice in the area.
