Upon check in we were excited to see the room we had booked as the photos of the property were beautiful! My kids were excited about the bunk beds and the new renovations looked very nice. I then noticed that things were not as clean as they should be. Marks on the light switches and near door knobs. Dirty marks on the bunk bed. What appeared to be a moldy baseboard near the shower. A square sink that does not drain well/appears to be difficult to clean as the corners had a black build up in them. The bunk bed also seemed to not be very sturdy, I noticed that where the mattress slats were screwed into the top bunk there was a bit of a gap and it seemed to be compromised. I did not realize this until the morning we were checking out. The plastic chair at the desk had leftover crumbs and food debris on it. Luckily I had brought my own disinfecting wipes and was able to wipe down our room, but I feel like this should not be necessary when checking into a hotel room. Especially one with such new renovations. Our exterior door also did not latch very well, when we returned to our room after being away for 7 hours my child turned the door knob before we used the key card and the door swung open. The hotel staff was attentive to this and checked on it right away, they were also going to have maintenance look into repairing it after we checked out. I was going to discuss my concerns when checking out but the front desk did not ask how my stay was and I was in a hurry to leave.
