„Beautiful location with stunning views of Lake Windermere. The room and bathroom were pristine. The decor was in the arts and crafts style. Restaurant food was very good and there was an excellent choice of fruit and cereals for breakfast along with superbly cooked and flavoursome items. Staff were kind and courteous and the overall service was excellent. Highly recommended. Will certainly come again next time we’re in the late district.“

„Friendly staff. Decent room but next to main road. Horrendous road noise which was acceptable during night. Expensive food and drinks ( if you order wine by the glass be specific or you will be served the most expensive without warning ) - you can save significantly by walking 200 yards to the restaurant adjacent to the YHA and eating with superb views over the lake. „Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und man kam sich bei dem Service fast wie in einem 5 Sterne Hotel vor. Uns wurde angeboten das Gepaeck auf das Zimmer zu bringen und wir wurden zu unserem Zimmer begleitet. Das Zimmer war sauber und gross genug und mit Wasserkocher und Kaffee/Tee sowie Keksen ausgestattet. Zum Fruehstueck gab es u.a. Cornflakes und Muesli. Ausserdem konnte man sich aus einem Menu eigentlich alles was das Herz begehrt (Eier, Bohnen, Schinken, Wurst, Omlette, Waffeln..) ...

„Nice room to base ourselves from for the night before the Fred Whitton. Basic room with everything you need, only complaint would be that the room we had was facing the street and the Saturday nightlife was pretty loud till late walking past the front of our room that kept waking us up, appreciate this is outside of the hotels control though so not their fault but this is just a work of warning if you are after an early. Ight for an early start. “
