Enjoy a gentle stroll to Rydal Water (1.5 miles) to explore its fascinating caves, or head to glorious Grasmere (3 miles) to pick up a slice of its world-famous gingerbread. Spend a fabulous day exploring the village of Hawkshead (5 miles), where William Wordsworth went to school. Check out the Grammar School Museum and then pay a visit to Hill Top House, where Beatrix Potter lived. Alternatively, head into the bustling town of Bowness-on-Windermere (6 miles) to take a cruise on the lake and relax in one of its traditional pubs.

Step through the side porch and head to one of two lounges – a great feature for multigenerational groups. The first is a relaxing space with a striking wood burner, while the second is a TV room with an electric flame-effect heater. Head to the open-plan kitchen/diner and rustle up your favourite dishes to share at the dining area by the bi-fold doors. Afterwards, if you're yearning for some quiet time, make a beeline to the home office or the sunroom. When the day is done, you'll find a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room on the ground floor, as well as three bedrooms on the first floor – a king-size with an en-suite shower room, a twin with a shower over the bath, and a double. A smart family bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the layout.
