- This stone-built Lakeland cottage in Ambleside offers the perfect base for families and friends seeking somewhere to spend special time together and create unforgettable holiday memories. At the northern end of Windermere, the market town of Ambleside is surrounded by magnificent scenery at the heart of the Lake District National Park. This area offers some wonderful walking and cycling opportunities, a haven for keen outdoor explorers and nature lovers. Thrill seekers can tackle one of England's most challenging cycle routes, 'The Struggle', 400 metres above Ambleside on the highest road in the Lake District. Those looking for peace and tranquillity can stroll through Rothay Park (0.5 miles), over the stepping stones and to Rydal Water and Caves (2.5 miles), a scenic route with plenty of picnic spots along the way.
Set out over three floors, a long entrance hallway greets you and leads into the bright and airy lounge, which boasts a beautiful bay window that floods this cosy space with natural light. Retire to the dining room to gather with loved ones around the dining table or simply catch up with a good book with the crackle of the roaring wood burner in the background. The contemporary kitchen beyond is a haven for budding chefs, equipped with everything required to rustle up delicious dinners and perfect picnics. Accessed from the dining room, the lower-ground-floor basement provides plenty of space for storing all your holiday gear. There are two parking permits in the property. One is for on street parking outside the property. The other is for a nearby car park.
