This property is clean, well maintained and very convenient if you are visiting a student at RPI.
For the most part, everyone on the staff was very helpful and welcoming. But I will say there was one gentleman that was working the front desk- one of the managers I presume. And while I was having breakfast and talking to the waitress about how I was from California, and she was telling me how beautiful La Jolla is and she loved visiting San Diego , this Hilton worker had the nerve to come walking out from behind the front desk, intrude on our conversation and ask about gas prices in California.
And when I agreed, they were a little bit higher here than New york for sure, he told me that’s what I deserved for living in Los Angeles. I was shocked. “deserved?” I deserve some kind of punishment for living in California? Such a strange and rude projection. He was not part of the initial conversation. Injected himself in it just so that he could come over and spew whatever political upset he was having with our state. Have no idea what his deal was. But his hostility dampened my breakfast. The waitress on staff actually pulled him aside. Had some choice words with him and he went away. It happens. I get it. The staff for the most part at this hotel was great. But this little man definitely wanted to have some kind of fight. Unfortunately, for him I was not willing to participant.
