Beacon Lodge is an art deco era gem and it is lovely this building and architecture style lives on (as do many other fabulous art deco homes/apartment blocks in Glenelg South).
While Beacon Lodge exterior could do with some renovation, Glenelg Stay at The Bay was very modern.
The kitchen was well equipped as is the apartment generally (everything you could want). The apartment decor was very comfortable and homely.
The apartment is ideal for a couple (maybe a couple with a young child?).
There are two bedrooms, however, the layout is awkward; second bedroom doesn't have a separate exit to the lounge room but is connected to the main bedroom and you have to walk through it to get to the lounge room.
The parking advertised is really not suited to any mid to larger car. The garage looks original and it doesn't look like any repairs have been made since it was built. The sliding door didn't slide across fully and we gave up even trying to park inside. For our 8 nights, we parked on the street.
Communication was excellent. Janet provided all the information regarding access and when we had a query during our stay.
The area is quiet and within walking distance to the Broadway and to the Brighton-Glenelg Beach walking path.
Would we stay there again ... YES.
