For visitors, it's advisable to use one of the city's 10 parking garages, where live updates on available spaces are provided at major traffic hubs. Short-term parking is available in white zones, limited to durations ranging from 30 minutes to 2-4 hours. Blue zones offer parking for residents with a permit, and special parking permits can be obtained online. Other Things to Note:
We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible, which is why we provide an initial set of essential items upon check-in. These items include:
- Two "Züri-Säcke" (garbage bags designated for your location)
- One kitchen towel
- Two rolls of toilet paper
- One soap, one shower gel, one shampoo
- Four coffee capsules for the coffee machine
Please note that these items can also be provided again for an extra charge.
When it comes to garbage disposal in Zurich, it's important to follow the city's regulations. Official bin bags, known as "Züri-Sacks," are required for household trash. You can find these at supermarkets, typically available at the cashier's desk. These bags are not for recyclables.
Unlike in some areas, full bin bags are not collected from the street. They should be placed in designated neighborhood containers.
For recycling, remember to separate glass and aluminum and deposit them at local recycling points. These points are conveniently located near main tram or bus stops, post offices, or main shopping areas. Glass items should be separated by color, and plastic PET bottles can be dropped off at large containers in front of supermarkets.
