Summary:
Hurricane Helene update: We are grateful to report that our cabin has not been damaged. Power is on. Central air and heat is working. Clean and filtered well water. WiFi is fast and stable. We have three desks for remote working. The cabin is fully furnished and ready to move in for mid and long term rentals. Any rental over 90 days will have the occupancy tax charges refunded after the stay. We have up to 3 covered and dry garage bays for storage for an additional fee.

Nice House - a bit out of the way

The house is nice and sleeps 6 adults comfortably. We didn’t have any real issues during our stay. House does have well water but it tastes good. We brought a bunch of drinking water with us only to return it later Fridge is bit small for a family There are also very few containers for leftovers. House is also pretty far from big well known things to do. 15-20 minutes drive to downtown Asheville. But it is very secluded and private which is nice.

Could be better..

We stayed for my birthday weekend in the middle of the summer. When we arrived for the first time, we expected to walk into a nice and cool place, but it was hotter inside than outside because the Air conditioning was turned off. It took hours before it was bearable for us. It was still pretty hot the whole time we stayed. Even with the room units on max. There were ants all over the kitchen counters and a used towel under the primary rooms bed. The dishwasher leaked water all over the floor so we ended up handwashing everything instead. This place is listed as a dog-friendly place, but I would say it isn’t very dog friendly. I was told after booking that if dog hair was found on furniture or carpeted areas I would be charged extra. Please keep in mind that this place has carpet and furniture everywhere so if you have a dog that sheds a lot this isn’t the place for you. The location was great. I love the cabin feel in the wooded area, but we had a big problem with ticks… I understand fleas and ticks are going to be a thing in wooded areas, but I had to pick ticks off of my dog every time he went out into the yard even if he didn’t go into the wooded area. ***my dog is treated for fleas and ticks but still a problem*** The gravel to the driveway was so sharp that it cut my dog’s paws. I eventually had to carry my 70lb dog to avoid further injury in the gravel. overall the place worked for what our group needed with some as far as location and size, but needs some work.

Beautiful rural spot a few minutes from Asheville

For our purposes it was fantastic. Rooms inside were very clean. Living room large enough for all of us to chill out. Outside rear patio-area great for cornhole games. Kitchen spacious & well supplied. Very private setting. VRBO renter gave detailed instructions & communications which helped greatly. The entry door has a coded key-pad lock, and the renter provided us with the combination to be used for our week a week in advance via e-mail. No troubles with the keypad. While we had planned to spend most or our vacation right in/around Asheville we also greatly enjoyed visiting both Hendersonville & Brevard to the south 30-40 minutes. Well worth the trip!

No Heat for 4 Days - Property Manager Made Us Call the HVAC Tech

This house could be great if it was managed properly and didn’t have bad residual energy coming from the master bedroom. When we arrived at the property, it was 55 degrees inside the house. Outside it was 33. We notified the host and did not get a response until the next day. We found 3 space heaters that were not nearly enough. Additionally, when we would turn on more than one at a time, it would blow the circuit for the room and we would have to reset the breaker in the basement. They suggested running the fireplace for backup heat, however, they do not provide any wood and we paid $50 for two barrels that didn’t last more than a few hours. They then asked us to call the HVAC company, something a property manager is usually responsible for. They were closed due to the holiday. During this time, for 4 out of the 6 days during our stay, it never got above 55 degrees inside the house. The HVAC company reluctantly sent someone out to check everything was running properly, to find that the safety switch had been triggered, shutting off the heat. We were also charged $452 for “not reporting a pet”. Something we had done upon making the reservation and also mentioned our dog in messages to the host during our stay. They even have a camera on the garage we were made aware of before arriving which we walked our dog past several times, including when we arrived. We never tried to hide our dog and had booked the property for 2 adults and 1 pet.

Great little cozy cabin!

We really enjoyed our stay at the chocolate cabin. We were able to bring our two dogs which was a huge plus for us! The house is funky and super cozy! We enjoyed the hot tub and walking the surrounding property too. We would definitely stay again.

Chocolate Cabin was very eclectic. The beds were comfortable, the living space was ample and the hot tub made was the cherry on top. It was very close to Asheville, but out far enough to get that clean mountain air.

A Bit Disappointing

The cabin interior was unique and there were lots of mirrors and lights throughout. We brought our 2 small dogs but there wasn't much room to walk them, the whole front yard was covered with swarming wasps who had a nest in an old tree stump, the driveway led to a two lane road with limited sight since it sits on a hill and road curves in both directions. There was a small wooded area behind the shed which I mainly used (cautiously) as I know we're in bear country. We didn't use the fire pit at all, there were only 3 chairs (not 4) and it was behind the garage and just felt a bit sketchy so we just didn't do it. The hot tub, like in multiple other comments, was unusable, the lid was filthy and smelled like mold and mildew. The water looked clear but the jets would not turn off and the temp would not heat up (because the jets kept turning back on) and it made this horrible high pitch squealing noise the entire time, technician was called but couldn't come out till the following week so I got refunded $113.25 out of the $120 I paid for hot tub management, owner did not explain why it was $6.75 short even after I messaged him/her about it. The microwave is useless, couldn't even warm up my half cup of coffee, even after a minute and it just sounds louder than it should when it runs. Would have been nice to know that there isn't a traditional coffee maker either, just a Keurig (3 de-caff pods) & a French Press. Our bed had a "dip" in the middle and sofa had no padding to sit on.

Funky stay, lovely mountains

The color scheme, funkiness and view/ setting did not disappoint. The cleanliness, inside and out, definitely did. Just a sort of overall grubby throughout the house and porch/ patio: dust on surfaces, throw rugs in need of a good shaking out. (Plus deeply nasty hot-tub, which we received only a partial refund for. Owner did get cleaned, but was unusable half of the stay. Please be aware that the hot tub is an amenity that you are additionally charged for, it is not part of the property in general.) Plus you are expected to put the clean dishes in the dishwasher away upon arrival, lol.

Chocolate Cabin

Very unique cabin on a quiet scenic property. Host was very responsive and checking in was easy. Property is about 25 minutes from Biltmore and downtown. We did not use the hot tub so unable to provide feedback on cleanliness. The interior was clean with the exception of a few things such as the coffee pot. Host provided complimentary wine and chocolate. Overall great stay.

Cabin itself was great, great location but upon arrival we inspected the hot tub and it was NOT clean. Cover had mold growing on it and there was scum floating on top. We also found hair in the shower drain. We contacted the phone number for the hot tub, left message and emailed housekeeping with pictures. No one contacted us back or came out to clean hot tub. Disappointed to look forward to using the hot tub and we could not. Sincerely

Beautiful Cabin In the Mountains

My family and I had a fantastic time for our Chistmas Vacation in the mountains. The property looks exactly like the pictures. My dogs had fun running around and playing in the woods. We only had one hiccup which was due to the sub freezing temps that caused the well pipe to crack and were w/o running water for a few days. This was of no fault to anyone as hundreds of people in the area had the same thing happen too. The Property manager sent someone at as fast as possible to fix the issue but bc it was Christmas Eve there was not much we could do but make the best of the situation and make due until someone could come out. We had a great time regardless. We went tubing and were very close to Ashville so that was really nice too. If your looking for piece and quiet this is the place. Absolutly beautiful property.

Great house and location for those looking to get away while on vacation. About 30min from the main city which was perfect for us. Place was spacious and wonderful. Hot tub is not very big but still made for a great time. Easy to gain access to and all around great place to stay. Would do over in a heart beat.

Disappointed

The pictures have this house as a quirky property which we looked forward too. The house was filthy and really needs a complete deep clean before it's rented again. We communicated this to house keeping as the extensive rules instructed with no answer and finally I had to reach out to Bellesvacation via their contact form on the website. They did email me and return the cleaning fee and a credit for the sheets we had to buy and it was a prompt credit. The living area furniture is very uncomfortable, we spent little time there. We did use the outdoor patio area quite a bit - but we did not use the hot tub, mostly bc of the extensive rules regarding it and the weird attached shed. The kitchen was stocked okay, and the double doors that open with the little bar was fun. It's pretty close to the highway and grocery/Walmart. Overall, I think if its deep cleaned and updated a bit it would be worth the money.

Great property

Unique cabin with nice view of mountains. My only complaint would be the hot tub water needs changing. We also ran out of TP. That being said, this place was much nicer than most places I have stayed. Would definitely stay here again and again.

Perfect Hideaway

What an amazing cabin to spend my birthday weekend in. The location was nice as it was a short drive to anywhere. Plenty of space to spread out amongst of girls. All the essentials were provided which made for an easy setup. I slept fine but my other friends said the beds were a little too firm for their liking but I mean most everyone sleeps better in there own bed anyway. Overall I loved it and would definitely stay again.
