„This is a lovely cottage in a stunning location. The photos don't do full justice to how nice this place is. Small and still perrect for our little family. Very well equipped. Gorgeous gardens, bbq, outside seating is a plus. Lovrly nature right on your doorstep. Hosts were fab. Recommended!“

„Originally we had planned to rent a mobile home to go on holiday but due to 10 days of rain (more or less) the decision to rent a flat was much better. And choosing this wonderful cosy, comfortable flat was the best idea of the year. The children felt at home imediately and had a lot of room to play inside and outside. „After nearly two weeks in B&Bs it was really wonderful to stay in Garden Cottage for 6 days. It is a very well equipped house with all you need and more. The cottage has enough space to live in, a nice little private garden, a calm and beautiful surrounding. And...what is more important than all this, the owners Colin and Lesley are very nice and helpful people. We liked the little chats and friendly suggestions. We really recommend this cottage in the calm region of the Lake District.“

„Cosy, well equipped cottage with a lovely view. Our elderly parents loved that they didn't have to go anywhere to enjoy the beach and they could get out for easy walks. With amenities just a few minutes drive away and local to wildlife viewing options this worked well for us. None of us were keen to leave.“

„Property was spotless, beds comfortable, Wi-Fi very good, kitchen well equipped, though none of the odds and end like salt and pepper often found in a self catering place so take absolutely everything you need with you. Perfect wee village- pub excellent with a limited choice of pretty good pub grub and less than a 100yard stagger away! Lovely walks on the doorstep and beautiful scenery, and sheep.“

„This was a great break in a gorgeous property. Everything was as described, including the facilities and location / proximity to the beach. I had no concerns about the dogs in the garden with the high and fully secure fence and all rooms were spacious to accommodate us. This was our third stay in Southerness and most certainly the best property we have stayed in. We will be back.“

Wonderfull first Family Vacation
"We would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful time. It was our first family vacation. We spent almost 3 weeks in the lodge, along with our 21-month-old daughter and our dog. The lodge is very clean and well-equipped. It is beautifully situated in a small, peaceful cluster of holiday homes, right on the border of fields and the forest. We were regularly greeted in the morning by cows, who would stretch their heads over the fence into the garden to welcome us. The lodge is nestled in the heart of nature, yet very well connected to the nearby town of Dumfries, offering a fantastic starting point for a multitude of activities. The owner provides a whole basket of brochures, but it's also worth inquiring about current events at the tourist information in Dumfries. There's plenty to do for children. The Mabie Farm Park is less than 2 miles away, and our daughter absolutely loved it. Furthermore, everyone there is extremely dog-friendly, which touched us deeply and was truly heartwarming.
