The Middletown Modern Bungalow - A JBMB Property

Beautiful Bungalow in walking Distance to 1st, 2nd Beach & restaurants. Private lot with big back yard, hot tub, deck & outdoor shower. Great for a peaceful retreat/family getaway. Living Room features a fireplace and large screen tv. 1st Floor Primary bedroom w/ Fireplace & large bathr. Large desk on 2nd floor is perfect to work from home. Additional living room on the 2nd floor with 2 bedrooms, full bath & extra space for kids under 12. Upon booking we will be sending a $300 payment request for the cleaning fee.
JBMB properties also provide complimentary gym passes.

Wedding Weekend!

We stayed the 2nd weekend in August 2024 for our son's wedding in Newport and it was wonderful! The house is so beautiful, big and clean! Loved it! It had everything we needed! Great location too! Anyone who stays here will be so happy! The host Bryan was great too! Hope to book again in the future. Just fabulous! Thank you!

Good location but…

The house seemed like it would be a good fit for our stay based on the size and location and some nice finishes but… But here is the deal: big houses need more TLC and it appeared it wasn’t receiving requisite amount of care. The back door lock was broken upon arrival and never fixed. There was a sewage odor coming from the master bathroom that was apparently associated with the water softener. This was attempted to be fixed but never completely went away. The owner tried to help the best he could and did address a few other issues we had but it was more than you’d like when arriving to stay somewhere for 4 nights. There was also evidence of mice around a bag of groceries we had set out the night before. This issue was also mentioned in a previous review.

DIRTY - MOUSE POOP - BROKEN APPLIANCES - RUDE HOST

This property looks cute from the outside but we had SEVERAL issues. First - the host gave us the wrong code and we could not access the house. When we got in the house stunk. The fridge was warm, rotten food was in the dishwasher, which we couldnt run because the dishwasher would not turn on, the sink wouldnt drain and the garbage disposal did not work. The master bedroom had a dog crate in it that smelled like urine :( Two different towel bars in the house were coming off the wall, and an upstairs window was stuck open. The hot tub was slimy and no cushions could be found for the patio furniture. The host did send a handyman over and most of that was resolved the first night, but the fridge did not get cold for about 6 hours and we had brought groceries with us. The last night of our stay we cleaned, and found chewed thru garbage bags in the morning and mouse droppings in the kitchen and on the dining room table. I did try to resolve this amiably with the host, but he refused a partial refund and never once apologized or expressed any concern that the house was not up to normal standards of cleanliness or operation. While the host was rude, the man that came over to help was nice, although he did tell us he wasn't even a handyman.

Excellent Location, Very nice house!

This was our first VRBO experience, so we didn't really know what to expect. House was very spacious and we were impressed by all that was provided. As we travel with our dogs, the fenced in back yard was a huge plus for us! Location was so convenient to downtown Newport. Would definitely recommend.
