„This is a lovely place to stay, very peaceful and quiet and close to Barnard Castle. The staff are friendly and the service was excellent. The rooms are as good as they look on the photos. „From the minute we arrived, Lisa couldn't have done more for us. We felt completely catered for and had a wonderful stay. The school house has been renovated so beautifully and we loved hearing about and seeing the history of it. „The staff, the food at both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Parking is just across a quiet road. Our room however left us literally cold. Old building, 'wavy' floors, single glazed casement windows facing the prevailing - brisk - wind and an outside temperature of close to freezing. Then the heating gets switched off for the night ! Considering that this was the most expensive 'one nighter' on our recent trip, we were less than satisfied.“
