"Excellent stay at The Loch Ness Inn. We were staying at 8 different locations during our tour of Scotland and this inn stood out as by far the best for accommodation and food. It was welcome to see that all the small details were looked after, enabling the room to be very well presented. All three courses of the evening meal were delicious and who knew porridge could taste that good for breakfast! "

"Good night’s stay in village pub popular with locals. Rooms were well kept, clean and comfortable. Food was very good, service was slow as food prepared to order. Like everywhere, it seems, would benefit from an extra member of staff. Not much happens in the village but there is a decent cafe, a good ice cream shop, and a well-stocked shop. "

"Altguish inn was an unexpectedly nice stay that we experienced on out nc500 trip. The hotel is out of nowhere in the middle of the road with no attractions nearby. An old cute hotel. They have ample parking, and 1 slow electric charger in the carpark. The restaurant served good english breakfast. The sausages were amazing. The bar was good. The service was excellent. Now our room was also amazing with all necessary amenities. I would surely recommend the place for anyone travelling the route and...

"This was a pleasant surprise on my last night in the UK. I'd had no luck finding a place in Inverness near the airport and settled here instead. The single room was plenty big for me, the ensuite was a nice touch, and the pub downstairs had surprisingly good food when I was too tired to go back out. The location is great, 15 minutes on a straight shot to the airport, and walkable to the beach. The staff at the bar were all friendly and helpful, and walked me through using the car park, wifi,...

"Bed super comfy and towels lovely and soft. Decor and space in our particular room not great. Supper food really good, breakfast a little underwhelming. Would have felt nicer to have experienced a few more smiles from some staff "

"Great small rustic place in middle of no where. Beware need car. Look out for the road sign which is easily missed. Access is via a rough gravel track. Patio under cover with chairs and table. Small fridge in room with complimentary can of soft drink. Plenty of milk in fridge too. Breakfast excellent. Juices, cereals, starters to include warm cossiant or pancake. Fresh fruit strawberries, orange segments, peaches plus cold meats etc. Excellent cooked breakfast to follow complete with...

"The b&b is on a main road (A9) which is the road most traffic including large trucks use to go north/south of Scotland. The rooms are just above the bar so there is music on until about 10:30pm. The room itself was very nice, clean and spacious for the price we paid. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. There was also toiletries to use in the shared bathroom as well. Staff we spoke to were really friendly and asked if we needed anything for the room or would like our room cleaned....

"Our stay was great. We were delayed into town due to a canceled flight but Callum was there when we arrived and promptly showed us to our room. Our room was clean and sufficient for our needs. The area is good for walking around Wick. We didn’t have a chance to have a drink in the bar as it was closed the two evenings we were there. I would recommend and we plan to return again "

"Noisy location right near the plaza made worse by a food truck that pulled up at midnight. Room was small but fine except for the noisiness. Breakfast was ok. Hotel itself was beautifully presented. If it werent for the noisy people in the plaza the spot is perfect."
