“HOTEL COMINO”

... living in Tokyo and normally spending holidays in SOuth Pacific Resorts, this hotel has excellent European standard, and trying to satisfy the guests in a very friendly and kind manner. If somebody looks for a reasonable, but quiet place, in a beatifull surrounding (malta style) then this is the best in MALTA. Thanks to Comino management and staff, the flight from Tokyo to Malta was worth it.

“Familienfreundlicher Rückzugsort in ruhiger Umgebung.”

Das Comino Hotel wurde nach dem Rückzug der Engländer aus Malta (1964) gebaut und hatte damals sicher einen guten Standard von 4 Sternen. Seither wurde an der grosszügigen Anlage offenbar immer nur das nötigste gemacht, so dass der Gesamteindruck heute "leicht heruntergekommen" wirkt. Der Transfer vom Flughafen mit Taxi und Boot führt bis vors Hotel und ist perfekt organisiert. Netter Empfang, saubere Zimmer, etwas enges Bad, kleiner Balkon aufs Meer (Ostseite) oder zur Abendsonne (West), alles sehr einfach aber sympathisch. Frühstücksbuffet eher einfach (Kaffee und O-Saft holt man besser gegen Bezahlung an der Bar), über Mittag Buffet oder Snacks an der Bar, schönes Buffet am Abend mit leckeren Vor- und Hauptspeisen -- Desserts sind eher Glücksache; netter Service. Das grosse Plus: Die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit, das Unterwasserparadies "vor der Haustüre" (Taucherbrille und Schnorchel mitnehmen oder im angebauten Tauchzentrum mieten), angenehmes Publikum (Deutsche, Schweizer, Engländer). Im Sommer ist die Anlage offenbar lärmig und überlaufen -- die beste Zeit ist Mitte Sept. bis Ende Okt.

“Fantastic location”

This hotel is ideal for anyone wanting a complete rest in the lovely natural surroundings of the island. Good for those who like exploring islands. The pools (salt water) and sea provide easy bathing conditions. The food is fine with a good choice of meals. The snorkeling is very good in the bays (lots of wrasse,starfish and fried egg jellyfish and eels) and the blue lagoon is in easy walking distance (for those who like walking), although do go early as it gets crowded by about 10am in high season. Unfortunately the cliffs are very jagged near the lighthouse so could not enter the sea here to see the sea horses - but it is crystal clear so do hire a boat!! Easy to get to Gozo on the hotel boat.

“Would love to go again”

Lovely little island, staff very attentive (and lots of them), great having wireless internet in the hotel. Food excellent - buffet evening meals with huge choice and lots of choice for breakfast too.

“Great location!!”

This is a quiet, family resort. If you want to enjoy the Blue Lagoon only minutes from your room... it is worth it to stay here! The staff were really kind and helpful!

“The beauty and peace of Comino”

It was a lovely stay food was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff could not have been friendlier. I slipped on the deck of the boat that brought us to Comino and I broke two ribs they arranged a taxi and I was treated at the main hospital on Gozo the doctors at the hospital where very good and as I had brought my European health card there was no charge for treatment. There are two private beaches next to the hotel which are excellent for swimming and snorkelling we saw lots of fish while snorkelling. We stayed in the bungalows about two or three kilometres from the hotel. It to had a lovely beach for swimming though this was public. The hotel boat to Gozo and Malta can be used as often as you like for a single five euro charge. The best place we went to was Popeye Village where actors play the part of the cartoon characters and it great fun.

“Lovely Staff”

My partner and I had a lovely relaxing 10 days. We sunbathed and snorkeled and ate really nice food at the Hotel. We had a nice tour of Gozo and and a quick tour of Valetta. Mostly we just lazed around at the quiet little beaches and enjoyed a quiet relaxing holiday. Book early and pay less unlike us, but it was still worth it.

“Ruhe, Erholung und sportliche Aktivitäten”

Saubere Zimmer, ordentlicher Service, großer Pool mit Meerwasser, zwei schöne kleine Strände beim Hotel, wenn man nicht zur blauen Lagune will, und eine traumhafte Wasserqualität. Die Insel ist klein, mit dem Hotelboot sind aber auch Ausflüge zu den anderen Inseln möglich.

“Absolutely fantastic”

The kindness and efficiency of all the hotel staff are what makes this hotel really special; nothing is too much trouble. This is a hotel for families or those who want privacy, peace & quiet. If you want lively nightlife with discos, clubs and lively music, then go elsewhere; Comino is asleep by 11.00 pm - guests are up by 9 a.m. swimming, snorkelling, pedaloing, canoeing, windsurfing,scuba diving or sunbathing. Relaxing by the lovely seawater pool; joining your little ones in their own safe pool; swimming in the beautiful Mediterranean; visiting neighbouring Gozo or Malta. There is history, wildlife, but also you can do nothing at all.
